Saving Susan's Hair
A Secret Box of Furry Abundance
About couple of years ago, I got this cute book as a gift.
I wasn’t really sure if I was going to actually try to make anything with it, but here’s the thing: I had been saving Susan’s hair already for over three years.
I’m not sure why, really. I don’t think I’d have the patience to make a hat, but perhaps I could get someone else to do one. Or maybe make something else, like a cat toy from this book…
Susan has always loved being brushed. She grooms herself of course, like any cat does, but she loves a good brushing. I think it makes her feel relaxed. It’s become our nighttime ritual before bed. I’ve even been able to sometimes clip her claws when needed and also brush her teeth (though I think she mostly tolerates that so she can eat the fishy-flavored toothpaste).
When I started saving her hair (some people say fur–I had to google it to figure out the difference) I would put the furry clumps from the brush and put it in what used to be a tissue box. I hope this isn’t too gross, but here it is, totally overflowing…
And here is how I get that treasure…
Have you made anything with cat hair? Are you allergic to cat hair? Can I donate Susan’s hair to make a cat wig for a bald cat? How much can I get for the box of hair on the black market? Can I use Susan’s hair to clone her?
Speaking of questions, you can send me your questions for Susan’s upcoming AMA, which will post next Sunday. Leave a comment or send a direct message with your probing Qs.
Thanks for reading Susan’s Eyebrows!
